The Fanvil X4U is the everyday workhorse of Fanvil's XU enterprise line — the desk phone for staff who live on the phone all day and need their lines and contacts in view, without paying for a receptionist console.

It carries two color screens. The 2.8-inch main display runs the call interface with 3 line keys, and a 2.4-inch side display handles the DSS keys — 6 physical keys that page through to 30 DSS assignments for busy-lamp field, speed dial, and one-touch transfers. The phone supports 12 SIP lines and 6-way audio conferencing, so a small team call can start right from the desk.

Audio is HD wideband on both the handset and the full-duplex speakerphone, with G.722 and Opus wideband codecs. Headset choices are flexible: an RJ9 headset port, EHS support for wireless headsets with the appropriate EHS cable, Bluetooth through the optional Fanvil BT20 USB dongle, and Wi-Fi through the optional WF20 USB dongle where no network drop is available.

The wired install is standard fleet fare: dual Gigabit Ethernet ports with integrated PoE, so power and data arrive on one cable and the second port bridges through to the desk PC. It is a standards-based SIP phone that auto-provisions via FTP/TFTP/HTTP/HTTPS, DHCP Option 66, SIP PNP, and TR-069. The desk stand adjusts to 45 or 50 degrees, and the phone is wall-mountable with an optional bracket.
