The SM/NIM/PIM slots accept Cisco interface, voice, and compute modules for WAN diversity, cellular backup, or local services.

Every Catalyst 8300 ships with dual AC power supplies for redundancy, 8 GB of DRAM (upgradable to 32 GB), and 16 GB of M.2 storage, and runs in autonomous mode or under Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN Manager with Trustworthy Solutions 2.0 secure boot and SUDI hardware identity built in.
