The 8180 IP Audio Alerter is a wideband, SIP-compliant and multicast-capable PoE network speaker for voice paging, emergency alerting, and loud ringing. Page extensions auto-answer to enable live voice paging over the internal wideband speaker. Ring extensions do not answer and instead activate a selected audio file from internal memory to play over the speaker. Simultaneously, the 8180 can broadcast live voice or active ringtone over the network to other Algo IP speakers (including the 8180) and IP visual alerters either all at once or in zone groups.

An embedded microphone allows the 8180 to monitor ambient noise and automatically adjust its speaker level according to background noise level for both paging and alerting. The microphone may also be used for talkback two way communication. Equipped with a high efficiency and self-amplified (Class D) loud speaker, the 8180 is typically eight times louder than a telephone speaker. The 8180 contains 1 GB internal memory and is pre-loaded with several commonly used audio files for ring sounds. Users may also record or upload custom audio files, music, sound effects, or voice announcements.
